Hallway #1

The hallway is long and dimly lit. On either side of the hallway is lined with offices. They have different names on the doors, but the name on the last door catches your eye. President, H.W. Panic. If there are clues it would probably be in there. You open the office door and walk inside.

The president of the company must of fled as well, the office was empty. But there was files on his desk. You sit at the desk and start looking at the open files. At the top of the first page something was circled in pen numerous times like it was the utmost in importance, perhaps a first clue. "Betty's retirement today! Good riddance!" Well it wasn't really a clue, but obviously H.W. Panic hated Betty. You look around the desk and you see a picture of Betty on the desk showing prominently. It was signed by Betty,  "All my love, Betty". "Ahhh isn't that sweet", you thought. Wait, you weren't here to solve the mystery of the possible romance gone wrong between H.W. and Betty. As intriguing as that may be, and the possible reasons you may be imagining, you were investigating something far more important! Stay focused damit! 

There was a leather couch along one wall and a couple of pictures on the wall. The pictures were framed newpaper articles from the past. One article reads in the headline, "Beggarsville gets new Research Lab" There was a black and white photo of the ribbon cutting ceremony. There was H.W. Panic, the mayor of Beggarsville and...Betty with a scissor in her hand to cut the ribbon. "Those must of been happy days for H.W. and Betty", you thought. The other newspaper article read, "Town changes name from Beggarsville to Panic Town" The article goes on to say that H.W. hated the town's former name and he was naming the town after himself, and he stated, "Beggars can't be choosey."  This was all fine and dandy but you still had no clues as to what was going on. You walk back to the desk and decide to actually flip through the pages of the file. 

The files showed that there was some sort of anomaly at the site and they built a research lab around it to study it. They were finally making scientific progress after almost 30 years , a truly monumental breakthrough of time and space when they had to suddenly stop for the day, because it was....Betty's retirement party! "You have to be kidding me!" you shouted. There was no more clues to be had, but before leaving the office, you looked at the couch and wondered if any naughty business happened on that couch between H.W and Betty. You would need to go down a different hallway to find more information. Hopefully better information next time.
