Panic Town

Even what seems like a strange land, where strange things might happen, monsters are not supposed to be real.... 

You were on a great well deserved road trip adventure. Traveling for hundreds of miles in the same direction. You got off the main highway hours earlier and had no clue as to your location. You had no map and your phone had no service, then the car stalled and you came to a complete stop somewhere in the country. You get out and decide to walk. Nothing was going to ruin your road trip. Now you've been walking for miles, not sure where you are or where you are going. Suddenly, you realize the area you walked into was dark, grey and gloomy, clouded over, almost dark. Yet, half a mile back, it was sunny and there was leaves on the trees. It was July and everywhere else was in full bloom, except here. The trees were absent of leaves and everything looked like it was dying. A little further up the road there was an abandoned car on the side of the road. It looked like it had been there for years.
